Tour: Everyday Histories Look-Up Tour Central Grimsby

Friday 11 September to Sunday 20 September

Victoria Street, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, DN31

A digital or paper-based self-guided tour of Grimsby’s town centre buildings and their histories.

Look Up from ground floor shop windows and find hidden gems in Grimsby’s town centre! Explore heritage often disguised on our present day high street buildings and find everyday histories.

Plate glass windows of the latter half of the 20th century disguise a building’s original use and occupants. By encouraging you to ‘Look Up’, this tour will help you explore the past history of buildings, their stories and very often, the artistry and embellishments which were common place not so very long ago.

Everyday Histories Look-Up Tour – Central Cleethorpes

Friday 11 September to Sunday 20 September 2026

Look Up! explore heritage and find hidden gems in Cleethorpes’ town centre!

This self-guided Look Up! Tour is about looking beyond the ground floors of our buildings because these are less likely to have been altered over the decades. So, by looking at their original styling we can explore the history of buildings, their stories and very often, the artistry and embellishments by early craftsmen. But please be careful when ‘looking up’ – you may find you need to take extra care when walking.

This Guide starts at Cleethorpes current railway station as if you arrived at the station and takes you around the town in a clockwise direction ending at the original station buildings alongside Platform 1.

The Macc Lads / Monkish at Yardbirds Rock

Comments Off on The Macc Lads / Monkish at Yardbirds Rock

The Macc Lads are an English punk rock band from Macclesfield, Cheshire. Self-proclaimed the “rudest, crudest, lewdest, drunkest band in Christendom the Macc Lads have typically used irreverent, foul-mouthed and politically incorrect lyrics; common themes have been binge drinking, sex and fighting.

THEATRE: The Unfriend

THE UNFRIEND

A comedy by Steven Moffat

Directed by Stuart Stretton

The Caxton Theatre, Grimsby

Opens Saturday 18 July through to Saturday 25 July 2026

While on holiday, Peter and Debbie befriend Elsa: a lusty, Trump-loving widow from Denver, USA. She’s less than woke but kind of wonderful. They agree to stay in touch – because no one ever really does, do they?

When Elsa invites herself to stay a few months later, they decide to look her up online. Too late, they learn the truth about Elsa Jean Krakowski. Deadly danger has just boarded a flight to London! But how do you protect all that you love from mortal peril without seeming, well, a bit impolite? Because guess who’s coming… to murder!

Award winning writer Steven Moffat’s play The Unfriend takes an hilarious and satirical look at middle-class England’s disastrous instinct always to appear nice.

TICKETS: The Caxton Theatre event tickets from TicketSource.

Fleetwood Bac

Comments Off on Fleetwood Bac

Fleetwood Bac were the worlds first and are regraded as the Uk’s most authentic Fleetwood mac Tribute show, raved about by peter gardens biographer and were the first Fleetwood mac tribute band to fully replicate the classic Stevie, Lindsey, Christine, John & Mick “Rumours” line-up.

Fleetwood Bac are the UK’s longest running Fleetwood Mac tribute show.
And some say the best…
No backing tracks, just a collective of Mac-crazy musicians.

EVIL SCARECROW

Comments Off on EVIL SCARECROW

Parody metal band – the finest to ever to write a song about a robot… probably!

Evil Scarecrow are delighted to announce a short run of dates for 2026, taking in their performance at Bloodstock Festival’s 25th Anniversary, firstly at Yardbirds Rock!

The world is a strange and not necessarily pleasant place at the moment. Evil Scarecrow mostly try and steer away from Politics, politics and general misery, it’s our job to bring the fun, but sometimes even we can’t ignore the madness. Our latest album “Silicon Tea”, released in October 2025 didn’t set out to encapsulate the darkness of modern life, but it is laced with cynicism and irony.

“Shred the Evidence” could be a light-hearted ode to binge drinking, it could be a statement on post-hedonistic shame, or it could be … something else. As such, we release a video for this track to coincide with the tour announcement. Go watch it and make up your own mind. The zeitgeist of our time seems to be “you’ve gotta laugh or you’ll cry”.

  • Friday 17 July 2026
  • Yardbirds Rock Club, Grimsby
  • This event is for 18 and over – No refunds will be issued for under 18s.
